Double Your Netbook Power with New Dual-Core Atoms

Intel Atom N550 introduced today - the first dual-core Atom processor. The next generation Atom processor increases the performance and capabilities of the smaller mobile computers - providing businesses with more affordable options for notebook computers.

The Atom N550 processors are on the shelves today in a dozen different netbook models. Those producers who have already jumped on dual-core Atom-train Acer, ASUS, Fujitsu, Lenovo, LG, Samsung, MSI and Toshiba.

Intel Atom is designed to have used an energy-saving alternative to the Celeron-M processors in netbooks to date. The launch of the Atom Netbook made a powerful mobile computing platform, and launched first by the explosion in netbook market.

"Experienced in its short history, the netbook category impressive growth," said Erik Reid, director of marketing for mobile platforms at Intel. "After around 70 million Intel Atom chip for netbooks sent since our launch of the category in 2008, it is obvious a big market for these devices around the world."

As a high-end laptops - the bigger and more powerful cousins of the netbook - will be further developed by Dual-Core to the powerful quad-core processor Atom N550 Netbook moves the small platform in the dual-core era. Atom N550 processor at 1.5 GHz and includes support for DDR3 memory as well.

Netbooks are the first from the gate with the new nuclear - and the netbook market is the most obvious benefactor of the transition to dual-core processing - but it is wider applications for the new Intel processors. The more powerful processor also opens up the possibility of dual-core smartphones and tablets as technology continues to migrate to mobile platforms.

Intel is working with Nokia to develop mobile Meego operating system and the purchase of McAfee, to improve reliability for connected devices of all shapes and sizes also provide clues as to what may be on horizon for Intel.

To provide businesses, employees with portable computers available, but mobile users have no top-end computing power to explore the possibility of the dual-core netbooks instead of full-fledged laptops. Even single-core netbooks are in a position to have to perform most tasks that mobile workers can enter.

Netbooks are smaller and lighter than laptops, making them more easily carry around while you're on the road. They also have much better battery life than conventional notebooks - that lasts six hours or more on a single charge. And let us not forget that netbooks are usually much cheaper than traditional notebook PCs.

Smart phones and netbooks tablets have pushed to the back of the Mobile Computing-Bus, but these platforms have their limits, and sometimes mobile workers need a "real" computer. Atom N550 Processor brings dual-core performance for netbooks and expand the possibilities for the calculation of the jump.
